The role of the Industry Participation branch

The Western Australian Government is committed to ensuring local businesses receive full, fair and reasonable opportunity to participate in major WA markets.

We support local businesses to compete through the following key focus areas: 

  • Policy and legislation - using policy and legislative instruments to ensure that local businesses have full, fair and reasonable opportunity to access markets. 
  • Market access and supply chain - identifying opportunities and hindrances to local business participation in key markets and advocating solutions.
  • Business support initiatives- developing and delivering business development programs tailored to specific industry sectors or regions.
  • Submissions and reports – at times, Industry Participation commissions reports into key issues affecting WA businesses. We also provide submissions on Parliamentary, government and private sector reports.
