In July 2020, the Premier launched the revised Buy Local Policy, known as the Western Australian Buy Local Policy 2020. The Buy Local Policy 2002 will be phased out during a planned 6 month transition to the WA Buy Local Policy 2020.
The Policy contains a range of initiatives and price preferences that provide local businesses with an enhanced opportunity when bidding to supply to the Western Australian Government.

The Department of Jobs, Tourism, Science and Innovation is now the lead agency for the administration of the Buy Local Policy.
