The Department of Jobs, Tourism, Science and Innovation is pleased to host 4 Asia Business Capability Workshops in Perth to support Western Australian small and medium enterprises (SMEs) build awareness, knowledge and skills that support strong relationships and the development of trade opportunities with priority Asian markets.

Workshop activities will include interactive presentations, in-class exercises, group exercises, role-playing, business case review, Q&A session, panel discussions and interviews with country experts. 

Each workshop will equip business managers with practical market knowledge and important cultural capability in developing high-level strategies to establish foundations for communicating with, and maintaining, positive interactions with Asian stakeholders and leading overseas expansion.

Presenter and Trainer

Sandy is a multi-award winner, contributor and educator in international business. With over 15 years of experience leading international expansion, corporate communication and strategic alliance projects worldwide, she is the winner of USA Stevie International Business Gold Awards (2020), Asia's Top Sustainability Women of the Year (2019), and the Singapore Management Consultant of the Year (2016). Free workshop details:

Attendees will be limited to 20 people per workshop to ensure a COVID-safe environment.

A light morning or afternoon tea will be provided.


Registration Conditions:

To attend this event, you must:

  • be a resident of Western Australia
  • be an owner or employee of a Western Australian small to medium business enterprise operating in the state for at least two years.

Due to high demand for these workshops:

  • registrations are limited to 2 employees per company who can attend one workshop each
  • please ensure you are available and committed to attending the nominated workshop before registering.

Submissions close 5pm (Australian WST) on Friday 13 November 2020.
