Global Offices – Europe – November 2018

The Government of Western Australia’s United Kingdom and Europe Office in London has been supporting Western Australian businesses for over 125 years.

The European Union is a major, long-standing investor in Western Australia. Many energy, resource and infrastructure companies have significant investments in Western Australia. With Perth’s ‘World Energy City’ membership, the State is also aiming to broaden awareness of Western Australia’s total energy offer and work closer to other members such as Stavanger in Norway, Esbjerg in Denmark, and Aberdeen in Scotland.

There are trade opportunities for Western Australian companies in a number of sectors, including marine and defence, oil and gas, renewable energy, battery technology, science and technology and space. The State also has the key objectives of improving the market profile of Western Australian goods and services, encouraging investment, and attracting businesses and skilled people. In March 2018, Qantas began direct flights between Perth and London, the first direct link between Europe and Australia.

The Government of Western Australia’s United Kingdom and Europe Office helps Western Australian companies access trade and investment opportunities in the region.
