- Invest and Trade WA team established to drive the State's economic development and create jobs
- McGowan Government delivers on election commitment to create an outward-focussed, responsive approach to attract investment and grow exports
- Creation of the State's 'front door' makes WA more accessible for global businesses and industry
The McGowan Government has delivered on a key election commitment to establish a refreshed and comprehensive approach to attracting investment and growing trade in our State, to diversify the economy and create jobs.
Invest and Trade Western Australia provides a 'front door' for investors and customers interested, including those from overseas, in doing business with Western Australia. Potential investors will be able to access Invest and Trade's resources via an online portal, to be launched in early 2020.
Invest and Trade WA also provides vital information and support for WA's export-ready small and medium-sized enterprises who want help to reach their export potential.
A key element of the WA Government's economic plan, Invest and Trade WA will deliver a collaborative, responsive and client-focussed service that makes connections between businesses and investors, expanding and diversifying the economy.
The Invest and Trade WA team is located in the State's economic development agency, the Department of Jobs, Tourism, Science and Innovation, and will work across government to capture and respond to investment and trade opportunities.
A team of business facilitation professionals is now in place and has already responded to more than 70 trade and investment enquiries from businesses and organisations seeking support and advice.
More will be delivered early next year to create the State's 'shop front' and better position WA in interstate and overseas markets.
