Premier Mark McGowan and Education and Training Minister Sue Ellery have launched a major digital strategy designed to promote Perth as a study destination in China to help boost the State's share of Chinese enrolments and Western Australia's economy.

The strategy includes a website hosted in China and a social media campaign, which aims to increase the profile of Western Australia in China as a study and lifestyle destination to both students and parents.

The website, http://www.westernaustralia.cn, includes student testimonials, WA's research strengths and achievements, and university profiles, as well as providing potential students with an insight into life in Perth.

The Government of Western Australia office in Shanghai will also become a support hub for the State's five universities and pathway providers.

The launch was one of the final events of the Premier's mission to China, where he was joined by a delegation of leaders from WA's tourism and international education sectors.

Mr McGowan and Tourism Minister Paul Papalia travel to Japan today (November 14).
