- Most Yagan Square food and beverage outlets now finalised
- Local operators serving a wide range of cuisines in the city centre
- More job opportunities for local workers
Almost all of the bars, cafés and shops that will trade at Perth's newest public space, Yagan Square, have now been confirmed.
There are now 16 local traders currently fitting out their businesses ahead of Yagan Square's official opening in February.
Joining the 10 tenants announced in September 2017, the latest group of six businesses will service thousands of daily visitors to Yagan Square, creating new tourism and employment opportunities in the Perth central business district.
Adding to the already impressive variety of businesses are:
- Shy John Brewery and Yum Cha;
- Street Eats restaurant;
- Wheat Street café;
- Sue Lewis Chocolatier;
- Jersey Jack Gelato; and
- Honeycake.
The Metropolitan Redevelopment Authority has carefully selected the local traders to reflect the best of Western Australian culture and celebrate local capabilities in the hospitality sector. The remaining leases are currently being finalised.
Construction at Yagan Square is well in progress with 225 workers currently onsite and an additional 80 subcontractors involved in adding the finishing touches including landscaping and fit out of the food and beverage tenancies.
Closely following completion of Manatj Park, the Perth City Link project continues to improve connectivity between the city and Northbridge and provide exciting new business, employment and tourism opportunities for Western Australia.
