The Department of Jobs, Tourism, Science and Innovation is responsible for administering Alcoa's mining and refining activities in Western Australia under three State Agreements.

Completion criteria for Alcoa’s bauxite mine rehabilitation in the Northern Jarrah Forest in the Darling Range are required to be reviewed in accordance with Ministerial Statement 728, published in September 2006 by the Minister for Environment.

The Mining and Management Program Liaison Group, an interagency group chaired by the Department, conducted the review in 2014. The revised completion criteria applies to rehabilitation established from 2016 onwards until replaced by future revisions of the criteria.

The revised completion criteria documentation may be reviewed here and is also available on the websites of Alcoa and the Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions.
