Tourism expert to help drive more visitors to WA

Tourism Western Australia has engaged former managing director of Tourism Australia and chief executive officer of the South Australian Tourism Commission, Andrew McEvoy on a 12-month contract to guide the implementation of new strategies to drive more visitors to Western Australia.

Mr McEvoy has more than 20 years of experience in the tourism industry, and is the chairman of Alt Event Management and Sealink Travel Group.  

During his 12-month consultancy, Mr McEvoy's focus will be to accelerate the growth of holidaymakers coming to WA by enhancing the implementation of the aviation and marketing strategies outlined in Tourism WA's Two-Year Action Plan.

Mr McEvoy will work closely with the new Tourism WA managing director - recruitment to this role is progressing well.
