The Department of Jobs, Tourism, Science and Innovation supports disclosures being made under the Public Interest Disclosure (PID) Act 2003, in circumstances of possible improper conduct, including mismanagement of public resources and the like.

The Public Disclosure Act 2003:

  • facilitates the disclosure of public interest information;
  • provides protection for those who make disclosures and those who are the subject of disclosures; and
  • Provides a system for the matters disclosed to be investigated and for appropriate action to be taken.

Before making a disclosure it is important to be aware of the rights and responsibilities imposed on disclosers and others under the PID Act.  For further information please refer to the Guidelines:
